Privacy

Stream-Split is built to collect as little about you as possible. We don't sell your data.

What we keep

• The details you give us when you sign up (a display name of your choice, your email address and password) and your settings, such as language.
• The stream keys you add, stored encrypted and used only to send your stream to those sites. You can remove a site and its key at any time.
• Your live stream passes straight through to your sites and is never recorded. If you upload an away clip, we keep it until you replace or delete it.
• Technical information about your streams and how you use our service, such as connection quality and your device type. It's about how things ran, never the content: we don't record your stream or what you type.
• Your general location and connection details, worked out from your internet connection, so we can send your stream through the nearest server. We don't store your IP address.
• Messages you send us.

We use this to provide the service you signed up for and to keep it running well.

Cookies

We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in and your account secure. No tracking or advertising cookies, so no cookie banner.

Emails

We only email you about your account and your streams.

Who else handles it

Companies that host our website and servers, deliver our emails and protect our forms from bots, only to provide those services. Your stream goes to the sites you choose, under their own privacy policies. Some of our servers and providers are outside the UK; where they are, your data is protected by the safeguards UK law requires.

How long we keep it

• Technical information: 30 days.
• Everything else: until you delete your account, which removes it straight away.
• Accounts left unused for 6 months are deleted.

Keeping it safe

Connections are encrypted, passwords are hashed and stream keys are stored encrypted. You can turn on email sign-in codes for extra protection.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or get a copy of your data, or to limit or object to how we use it, through our contact form. You can delete your account yourself at any time from your dashboard. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
